Prairie 2002

Prairie
2002
45x38ish inches
Natural Dyes
Silk Crepe de Chine

This is "Prairie" I found it last night in a wicker trunk with several other pieces to my 2002 Prairie Rermnant Solo Show.  I'm thinking of cutting it into four sections, after pressing, and machine stitching, maybe push the surface a little further, and work them into my Canyonland Series.  This while I wait on my indigo vat to do it's thing!

Organizing Fabric Stash Leads to Found Samples!

Believe it or not the fabric in that suitcase really is organized!  While I was searching for piece of unfinished silk fabric I found my long lost stitched sample I had been looking for late last fall.

Due to the sample of the rights disappearance, deep into a pile of folded fabrics, I made another sample to pratice some machine stitching on.  Both sample pieces consist of cochineal dyed cotton fabrics and are machine stitched.  The left sample, however, has been surfaced further using fabric paints, oil bar, and ink.  I'm thinking the sample on the right could use a good dose of color as well.

The Studio Waits!

I have mono at the present, so my studio sits idle waiting, waiting for me to come paint, dye, and stitch!  All simply because I'm just too tired to do anything, but the diagnosis sure does explain a lot.

John moved the plastic drawer units into my studio two weeks ago, it's so nice to have all of my vintage yummies within arms distance now.

Vintage pink trim, there's a few things left in the office that need to be moved into the studio otherwise it's all in there now and it's a matter of just getting busy producing some new work.

I love black and white zippers, somewhere in one of those plastic drawers there's a black and white houndstooth zipper that's just wanting to be stitched onto a beautiful surface!

Image Issues

I'm not sure why I'm not able to upload images in "compose" mode, but I discovered I could do so by switching over the HTML mode.  Anywho... this is my new date stamp love, love, love it, I'm having so much fun just stamping dates all over my journal.  Super nerdy I know, but then that's just me, a dyed in the wool nerd!  And now with my date stamp it's easier to date my skeins, etc. after spinning, dyeing, and what not.

2013 - The Year to make things Sparkle!

I knew this year was going to be a banner year when I found this date stamp at Staples, talk about an easy way to date entries in my journal, and I don't know if your like me or not but any empty space in my journal is fair game for whatever!

Well for whatever reason, Blogger isn't allowing me to upload images at the moment, so take my word for it the stamp is way cool, if you're into office stamps, and has been a godsend!
