Field Notes No.'s 1 thru 42

Field Notes No.'s 1 thru 36.

Each 6 x 6 x 2.75 inch piece represents a section of farmland. No. 1 starts in the upper right hand corner, with No. 36 ending in the lower right hand corner. The thirty six pieces together represent one township. 

I created this series by painting earth pigments, clays, ochres, charcoal, conte, and a found local clays on cotton fabric. After curing the fabric pieces I then machine stitched them onto a timtex surface. Each piece is mounted to a canvas wrapped stretcher frame that has a gallery profile.

Each piece is mounted to gallery wrapped canvas frame are 6 x 6 x 2.75 inches and are wired with museum grade hardware for mounting on the wall.
