Oliver Files ~ Sick Puppy

He's been one sick puppy today, am not sure what he got into yesterday or last night, whatever it was it seems to be slowly working it's way out of his system.

Mean while... back at the studio... I cleaned an area in my studio so I can pack up my artwork for a solo show I'm hanging this weekend.  You can learn more about this upcoming show at my studio blog.

Studio Delimma

Delimma:  How to keep Oliver out of my sewing area when I'm not using that space???  The chair with the pile of stuff is the current gate for my sewing studio, it's butted up against my spinning wheel which is butted up against a Singer sewing machine cabinet.  This all to keep a curious puppy safe.  A baby gate won't work in this situation since there is nothing to really attach it too. so am looking for creative ideas.

Before - See the media trays on both sides of the table?  Well Oliver noticed them as well, turns out he has expensive tastes loves those soft paint brushes and those spendy colored pencils.  Sooooo...

Hubs made me a shelf last night, out of mdf, for my media trays and other supplies.  One of the perks was a spot for my sketch books on each shelf, now they are close at hand.  The biggest perk is having a larger work area and a spot at the left hand of my table for my large sketch books!

Oliver Day One

Day One: John is in charge of the scary stuff (edited for those with sensitive ears and eyes) Right now Oliver is wandering the house and getting to know his space, actually he's been doing this since about 8:30ish pm. John decided I was being too protective. No collars, no leashes, just pure puppy inquisitiveness that landed me a couple of sessions of pure puppy exhaustion on the sofa. Here's to an even better day tomorrow!

John also took me to the local pet store that has a trainer for me to discuss all of my issues and fears, for day one - this is my first time ever having a puppy even if he DOES weigh 75 pounds.  I now have some new moves to use on Oliver it's one thing reading about the mommy correction pull and another learning how to actually use the mommy correction pull, they met him and LOVED him, and once his training collar was adjusted everything was so much better for the two of us!
