Be the Light

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~ Marianne Williamson

Strike a Light Bag

I was asked earlier this evening if I did beadwork on leather, yes I do... this is one of my earlier strike-a-light bags.

11/0 beads on brain tan, this was my first attempt and the flap is too small but stubborn is as stubborn does and while I could unstitch the bag and add a larger flap/back I've refused to do so thus far... but did learn my lesson for future bags!

Shimmering Light

Like columns of shimmering light!

I will be setting up dyepots this evening and cannot wait to dye more of this!  John's vacation starts tomorrow and I have him home to help me, and to paint the house, for the next two weeks. First up is to take all of the pastel silks, I dyed with exhaust baths, and turn them into dark rich lucious colors like the ones in the photo above.  Out with pastels in with yummy!

Thermofax Woes

The light bulb burned out on my thermofax machine this afternoon, I've been doing some reading since then nad have discovered that my machine is 1. much older and 2. the light bulb for this machine is not that common!  If you have a thermofax machine you need to check the amps/volts before you purchase your bulb the bulb for the 12 amp 115 volt machine will NOT work in my machine!  Onward searching I go!
